Blissful Ignorance

~~~
I read her words and wish
Nay, I pray to be the one
The intended of her thoughts
The recipient of her love
~~~

What hubris must there be

To think that loving words

Were written there for me

Smitten by a shadowed dream

~~~
We have never met, and yet
I feel like I know her true
Like I can see inside her soul
And she can see mine too
~~~

How is this possible

To become so enamored

Based on mere language

Fueled by my own wants

~~~
I am the blind man
Falling in love at first sight
An inexplicable connection
I desire for her affection
~~~

I don’t dare ask, for fear

That my heart plays a trick

And the knowing may kill

The fantasy so well crafted

~~~
    I don’t know. Sounds like if you have that much of a connection, her words might be about you more often than you think.
    This is a well-crafted poem, Brad. Beautiful, as always. 😘
      Thank you, Kristian! I wrote it in April, but it took a while to show up here. It is always a little tricky when you are voicing your real desires. Much love!
  4. I hope your muse enjoyed her vacation! I wrote somewhere, at some time, that the reality never measures up to the fantasy. I believe that because, in our fantasies, we can design beings with 100% pure and good intentions and 0% humanness. Nonetheless, lovely words!
  5. Wonderful poem Brad, an amazing expression of ideal love. And welcome back!
    Hello Brad it is nice to have you back. I have been on a break myself and still am. I hope you are writing your book. Your poem is alluring, romantically written and just plain beautiful. Sending hugs and love ❀️ Jonikins
    Love the last line of “The fantasy so well crafted.” Amazing how we can create scenarios that aren’t true based on our imaginations.
