Your Loving Moon
~~~
Eons are scarred across my face
You the beauty to my beast
Orbiting around your treasured space
So, on you my eyes may feast
~~~
Never able to turn and look away
My stare frozen by the energy
And as each night breaks to day
You pull at me constantly
~~~
Often feeling unnoticed
As I fade in other’s bright light
Wondering if I would be missed
If absent just for one night
~~~
We are bound in celestial dance
You spinning like graceful ballerina
Me stuck as if in a trance
With this dusty reflective patina
~~~
You a myriad of vivid colors
Me just this grey and ashen hue
I always feel just a bit duller
Stuck here next to beautiful you
~~~
But without you where would I be
Flung off into the great void
A lonely travelling destiny
If your gravity is unemployed
~~~
Pulling on you so tentatively
You can hardly feel my hand
Save the rising of your vast sea
Wetting your dried tidal land
~~~
Oh, that I could show you my worth
And that we could be as one soon
For you will always be my earth
And I, forever, your loving moon
~~~
