Silver Moon
~~~
It flows like mercury
Heavy and bright
A shining bit of silver
In the darkness of night
~~~
Pale shadows are cast
The grey ghosts dance
Your heavenly glow
Adds to the romance
~~~
Scented from above
Like jasmine in the air
The world goes by alone
Hardly seeing you there
~~~
But your forever pull
And translucent flight
Bound by heaven’s magic
Spells cast in your light
~~~
What would we be
Without your subtle grace
For love is ready found
In light upon your face
~~~
Yet, linger you have
As the lovers swoon
Under the light
Of a silvery moon
~~~
so lyrical and beautifully said, I’m a huge fan of the moon
Thanks, Beth!
One of my favourite topics and “things”, the Moon, the great mirror in the sky. So beautifully expressed my friend!
What a beautiful poem to begin my favorite season. Your words flow like a song 🎶, Brad! 💛🍁🎶
Thank you, Karla!
You’re welcome my friend!!
There is something about this poem that reads so lyrically smooth. Perhaps, it’s because it reminds me of the song “By the Light of the Silvery Moon.” I prefer Bing Crosby’s version. Anyway, so beautifully written, my dear Brad! ❤ 🌙
Thank you, Kristian!
There are few things as mysterious in life as the moon. Great choice on the autumnal equinox.
Thanks, Pete!
