Tuesday Tidbits #136
~~~
Welcome to the limited series, Tuesday Tidbits. A collection of quotes to provide inspiration, determination, and elevation. I hope you find something that brightens your day!
Rude behavior comes from thinking your time is more important than someone else’s. Kind of like when you are still in the waiting room at 2:30 pm for your 2:00 pm doctor’s appointment.
Putting our emotions and feelings into words to share with another is never easy, but it is important.
Laughter lightens the mind, but tears salve the soul.
I may not always understand fate, destiny, or divine purpose that puts my life exactly where it is, but I do believe I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
I am thankful for the hard times, as they have taught me to greatly appreciate the good times.
I have made it thus far in life because I was blessed by having people in my life that knew how to love well.
If you set expectations for people, they may, on occasion, disappoint you. If you don’t set any expectations, you will never be disappointed by how poorly they behave.
Now get out there and write something!
I love the ‘believing I am exactly where I need to be’ phrase
Thank you, Beth!
I loved and related to all of them, but I think I’m especially partial to the one about being exactly where you’re supposed to be! ❤
Thank you, Kristian! ♥
If it is true that we are all exactly where we are supposed to be, I want a do-over on whatever brought me to this place I am!
Me too! You should never live this far away! Love you, sis!
I could comment on several of these today, but I’ll limit it to two. #1 Jim Valvano, a college basketball coach who has since died from cancer, regarding the three things that make a great day—”Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think, you should spend some time in thought. And number three is you should have your emotions moved to tears.”
I typically set my expectations for myself and not for others. On the other hand, if someone lets us down once, I’ll probably think they deserve a second chance. If they let us down a second time, they are revealing how important you are to them.
I can’t argue with Valvano’s reasoning. And you are right, Pete. Most people deserve a second chance. But rarely a third. Thank you, my friend!
Meaty tidbits as usual. The challenge is wanting to be where we are supposed to be.
That is truly the challenge, Geoff! If you are ever unsure, just check with your wife. She always knows where she thinks you should be.
😎And every once in awhile I turn up exactly where I am supposed to be.
