Take Me Back
~~~
It had been months since I laid eyes on her
Though I saw her often in my dreams
A colorful movie of nightly memories
Her hair flowing, scented summer breeze
~~~
But there she was just, as pretty as always
And I hoped she would remember me
The last time I saw her was a sad affair
Though we had loved so desperately
~~~
I left with but a few kind words
And hibernated the winter away
In my heart, spring has returned
Seeing her again on this sunny day
~~~
I take her hand, a remembered warmth
I give great apologies as I wipe her eyes
I tell her all the sweetest words
And offer my poor alibis
~~~
It must be true love, when she smiles back
And our hearts again become one
One touch and her engine roars to life
And we ride off in the setting sun
~~~
romantic cowboy-style happy ending – into the sunset – sweet
Thank you, Beth!
Oh, the beauty of reminiscing.
This is written to my motorcycle. Every spring I hope she will take me back after leaving her cold and lonely through the winter.
I knew your motorcycle is important to you, and I wondered if that was what you were referring to or not.
I know those seasonal goodbyes are hard, but Spring will come around again! ❤
Thanks, Kristian! 🦒😘
