I Will See It In Your Eyes
~~~
You say it won’t
I know it will
It always does
I will see it in your eyes
~~~
A different man
I will become
If my scant veil
Lifted from all the lies
~~~
What you may think
And what I know
Two different men
Yet bearing the same face
~~~
You only see
Best I exude
Halo above
Evil, but a shadowed trace
~~~
You cannot know
What evil grows
Another’s death
A well-known, age old friend
~~~
From bloodied hands
Of hardened heart
Within them still
No fear to promote one’s end
~~~
For taking life
Without a tear
The killing lust
Is tattooed in the mind
~~~
If stripped away
The layered lies
That evil man
Becomes easy to still find
~~~
And change you will
Your view of who
Is standing now
Truth seen uncompromised
~~~
You say it won’t
I know it will
It always does
I will see it in your eyes
~~~
impossible not to see it
Thanks! Enjoy your Sunday, my friend!
No matter how many times my eyes read these words, I want to look you in the eye and deny their truth, while simultaneously recognizing the truth within them. Our judgement will not change our ability to love another, but it nonetheless exists.
Thanks, sis! I appreciate how differently you see things. IT helps me see a different perspective too. Love you!
We have discussed this subject matter and you are well aware of my feelings. However, I will remind you that there is absolutely nothing you could tell me that would ever change my view of you! I might find some topics difficult to hear, some might be difficult to process, but I promise they could never change the way I see you now because they made you who you are. One day, I will prove this to you. You will look in my eyes and see they still hold the same softness and adoration they always have, and then you will have to write another poem because this one will be false.
There is nothing that could make me adore you less or lose respect for you.
Sending you lots of love! ❤🦒💋🌹
I love being proved wrong. Thanks for all the love, my friend! ♥
Brilliant!
Thanks, brother!
You’re welcome brother!
The old proverb, “Eyes are the windows to the soul,” comes to mind.
That they are. Thanks, Pete!
Your selections continue to hold up well.
Thanks, Geoff!
Reminds me of the anagram: the eyes = they see.
The eyes say it all! Such powerful words my friend!
Thank you, Karla! Hope you are well.
You’re so welcome, Brad! I’m hanging in and on my friend. Like all of us, I have struggles on some days. And others are better. I thank you so much for your friendship and support. I hope you stay well and have a beautiful weekend!
