A Centrifugal Life
~~~
I have not past the horizon just yet
To peer long over the edge of exist
The scant barrier between now and when
The undone left as only the wished
~~~
There are unknown miles to journey
But I can see that place from where I stand
A distant shore that siren calls to me
And the finality found upon its sands
~~~
Oh, that I could, be centered again
Childlike eyes seeing only light
Where youthful distance sees no end
And looking back bears little sight
~~~
But we are given centrifugal lives
Constantly spinning around the sun
Forces pushing us to final finite end
Where we learn what our lives have spun
~~~
If I get there before you, please know
That I stepped over that edge unafraid
I was grateful for living a beautiful life
In the countless revolutions I made
~~~
This is such a beautiful thought. It’s easier said when not currently mourning loss, but it is important we remember a life well lived rather than dwelling on the end of it. Wonderfully penned, my dear! ❤
