Great Oak
~~~
We must live like the great oak tree
Pushing up against our gravity
Set our eyes upon the height
As we climb to what is right
~~~
With wide roots that search the land
We seek out the true heart of man
Let love and kindness be nutrients
And become the fuel for our intents
~~~
Let our actions be the leaves
A tapestry of our good deeds
Though differences may abound
We all grow from the same ground
~~~
When time bids us to our end
And with the fall our leaves descend
Our weathered trunks a sign to all
That we had chosen to stand tall
~~~
So well crafted
My pleasure, Brad.
As a mere dandelion, I long to be a great oak.
You must be at least part oak as dandelions don’t live this long! Thank you, my friend!
Being a doak is better than dork!
