Lost at Sea

I want to love you back

But I am tossed in a sea

Of tragic lies and let downs

And my arms so very tired

No longer a buoyant trust

The heart finds no ground

No terra firma

Nary a shore in sight

Though horizons pass

Washed in the wishes

Any man the fool

To not cherish long

The promise of your love

But the fool is a part

That I have so oft played

Not everything we lose

Finds its way home again

Sometimes a ship sails

And as fate blows

It never makes a port

Your ability to write such hauntingly beautiful lines will never cease to amaze me. You tug at my heartstrings and leave me in awe at the same time!

  2. So true, so many times a ship does not make port… well written and powerful my friend!
