The Truth
~~~
Nobody thought it ever could
But we have been wrong before
Like the forest full of trees
It has become so very obscure
~~~
When it is bent by all we hear
The repeated lies and fallacies
Where is the truth we hold dear
When ours seem to never agree
~~~
We find our tribe and listen well
To the words that feed our own
And there under rhetoric spell
Truth becomes the lesser known
~~~
We build our own realities
Hand pick what we believe
Surround ourselves in sycophants
Unwilling the truth to see
~~~
So, there it died a mournful death
Where nothing requires proof
And we have laid to final rest
That thing we called the truth
~~~
Yes…Sadly I agree absolutely. đź’™
Thank you, Mairi!
sadly, the truth does not always win
Sadly so! Thank you, Beth!
Sad, but true.
Truly sad. Thanks, Kristian!
One of my favorites, Brad. I’ve saved this. Just like the forest indeed. I’ve often heard it said, “your reality is what you make it”. The truth can be right in front of us, yet, … sending blessings this Christmas season!
Thank you, Karla! I guess everyone picks their own truth. Blessings to you and yours for the holiday season!
You’re welcome, Brad! I’m sending blessings back to you and yours, too! I can’t believe we’re at the end of another year! Here we go!
Couldn’t agree more; articulated beautifully.
Thank you, Liam!
And these words about truth grow more and more truthful each moment.
How sad? Thank you, sis! Love you!
I change the station when political shows come on (regardless if they favor the left or right). I’m so tired of the constant bashing as if somehow only one set of beliefs matters.
I hear you, Pete. I used to have an interest in the news and politics, but it is all so venomous now that I have lost my desire to be informed. Hope you are well and wishing you the happiest of holidays!
