Is It Just

Is it just the twilight

Sparkling in your eyes

Holding me mesmerized

In the coming of the night

Is it just far off flowers

Carried by evening breeze

That brings me to my knees

And kills my will to fight

Is it just the hunger

To taste your full red lips

To find what must exist

In a smile so very bright

Is it just whispers in the air

The has me spellbound

In siren’s lyrical sound

Felled by promised delight

Or is it just you

Being forever just you

In the little things you do

That holds me now so tight

“I love it when you wax rimantic.” 😉

This is beautifully written, Brad. I can feel your longing. I know you love a good ending. You told me a long time ago that a good poem starts at the end. This ending sunk its hook in pretty deep. 😍

Drop the mic with this one, Brad. The sentiments and rhythm make this a contest-worthy entry.
