Consonance

What hopeless and hapless dreams be pinned

The wistful and wishful of wantings penned

A magic in the tragic of what world brings

From pulse and pierce of perfect pearled strings

Thus, the sentient sentiments sequenced

By the pride, prejudice, or pretense

Are chaffed and challenged to wit

By reality’s grating and grainy grit

Within the lyrical and lilting lines

Repeating rhymes in rhythmic time

The hidden bidden to be heard

One wonder of the written word

The tripping, tricky, and sticky tones

The greatest and latest in words alone

A mystical, mythical, magical part

A proverbial product of pronounced art

Precocious and playful preambles

As elegant and eloquent rambles

As little, laughing lines in resonance

Are wrapped and robed in consonance
