No Crystal Ball
~~~
We cannot divine the future
Rods crossing at chance
Some dousing of waters
Yet to flow their course
~~~
We cannot see all the road
Only to the horizon
Next stretched beyond our view
And always remaining
~~~
No crystal ball
The insight of mystic light
Painting the scenes
Of what may come after
~~~
Only the days behind
Can be marked by number
Our past are the stones
That ripple what follows
~~~
Live now, be now
Unbound to the past
Unconcerned in the future
Where we define the present
~~~
that is absolutely right
Thanks, Beth! Have a great week.
That’s the best way to live, my friend. I have a tendency to focus more on the future, but I try be hardest to live in the present. You are so wise!
GORGEOUS and a reminder I need to hear/read every day. So glad I found your blog thanks to Pete Springer.
Thank you, Pamela! So kind of you to say!
You’re right my friend, what we have is the eternal present. Brilliant!
Thank you, brother F!
My pleasure always brother B! 😊
You have some great lines in this poem. Especially: “Our past are the stones
That ripple what follows”
Thanks Jacqui! I greatly appreciate your kind words.
Yes! Beautifully said and great message
Thank you, kind lady!
I used to have very little past, so looked to the future. Now I see less in the crystal ball but the past is tucked everywhere, making me a hoarder.
Life is the only thing worth hoarding, my friend! Thank you, Geoff!
So very true, Brad. A bonus tidbit today!
