We take a path in life
Neither straight nor flat
Life you see is not
So simple as all that

A snake of turns and twists
Going uphill and down
Sometimes it is bedrock
Sometimes shaky ground

There are places we can run
And times we must crawl
There are days full of sun
And those when rains fall

There will be choices made
That guide our next turn
And in every step we take
Valued lessons are learned

This is not a race
Distance is not the test
The only thing that counts
Is we walked our very best
