Are You Not My Brother?

How is it the color of one’s skin,
Somehow defines what is held within…

Looking Back

If given some say by would be fate,
Change things in my life, a second chance,
An opportunity to skew my current state,
And in some small way my life enhance.

Winds of Change

There are smallish moments,
When our lives seem to exhale…

I Wonder

I wonder if you have changed,
If what we went through…

Expectations

If I expect nothing of myself,
Then nothing I become…

Don’t Ask

Do not ask me what I have seen,
For I have seen it all…

Scared

My mind plays tricks on me,
The kind without a laugh,
Spirits haunting memory,
As I walk my solemn path…

Silver Lining

But one will, by destiny, be led,
To the notebook that bears their name…

Constant

If morning heralded by rising moon,
And sun made the midnight noon,
If thorns bloomed from petaled stem,
And angels as evil as mortal men…

Are You Not My Brother?

How is it the color of one’s skin,
Somehow defines what is held within…
