A Hidden Family

We thought our childhood unique,
A dysfunction so truly rare,
Taught to listen not to speak,
The secrets we cannot share.

Silent Words

They are unspoken in every wanting glance,
Adoration and longing…

Family Bonds

But it did lead to the desire to, at least, post an entry about my bond with my sister. The immediate thought was about how we define family.

War Torn

Thrust upon us this horrid war
Lives cast in blood and sand
Can we ever hope something more
Salvation but prayer in weak hand

Surrogate Mother

Blessed am I this surrogate
For Mother’s missing love
A sister only by some fate
True blessing from above

The Lone Wolf – A Poem

Singular set of prints
Fade into distant snow
Scarring a tacit hint
In valley far below

I Am Gone Now

I am gone now,
but do not be sad.
I have lived my life.

One Last Ride

Dear Lord, one last ride
is that too much to ask?
An ass numbing jaunt,
like we’ve had in the past.

Brotherhood

A bond, not of blood, but of breed. For family is not about having the same blood, it is about who would shed theirs for you.

Where Are We Going?

Hard to sleep the night before.
Always harder, not knowing.
With the rising sun we’ll leave,
I wonder where we’re going.
