A Pile of Kings

You listened intent, as if heaven sent,
And you memorized every word…

Fears for Tears

Forever I have feared the tears,
The long ribbons of sadness…

Depuration

Analgesics for the pain,
Learned minds to explain,
Therapy for the brain…

No More To Say

The far-off tolling of a bell,
Breaks the silence where quiet dwells…

Old Stones, New Wall

No hidden lie or fear kept dark,
Soul flayed to a bloody peeled view,
Yet, as I gave myself away,
My secrets turned to weapons true…

Shine On

Let loose the light in strident strands,
As faint as the scent of gardened rose…

Be Aware

Be aware of all you see,
Each sullen look,
Each wanting need.

Reticent Ink

Black iron dripped from the quill,
Life scratched into stiff parchment…

Night

We speak ill of the night,
Equate it with the dark,
As lacking any light,
Devoid of any spark.

Indelible

How hard would we laugh,
Salted smiles from glass rim,
You would still be just her,
And I would still be just him.
