Lightyears Away

Ancient history is left to be seen,
And all that time can offer to see…

Time Unknown

The sun eats Mercury and Mars,
The giant red of a dying star…

The Passing Day

The symphony of cricket and cicada begins,
As streetlamps wake to a warming glow…

Tick Tock

Tick tock, tick tock,
Yells our life’s clock,
Passing so quick,
Each rapid tick.

A Way to Forget

The things you said hang from my rearview mirror,
And I hear them every time I look behind me,
Seeing the past all a little bit clearer,
The haunting making it harder to find me.

Lament of a Season

Cornfields tall cut short by farmer’s scythe,
Frost greeting each long-shadowed sunrise,
Days seem to be but a flashing of light,
Before again the cold and dark of night.

Sunrise

Forever it has been just dawn
The glowing horizon of promise
The faint hues that portend
The first ray of sunshine

My Scroll

Steady life passes to the left
Memories now curled
Past a million words and yet
A mere peek into my world

Forever Young

It has been a long hard fight
This battle to stay young
