Hourglass, poetry by Brad Osborne at Spillwords.com

The hourglass of life filled with granular moments…

Wise Men Say

You were once everything,
But fickle is love and fate…

Thanks Giving

Duty bound, the honored few,
Stand their guarded post…

Know Thy Self

I barely know myself at times,
What chance do you have…

Red Mud

They did not contemplate,
That it would be this night…

This Life

Kings and countries come and go,
From pauper to prince, I’ve been…

A thousand words said a picture’s worth,
But these do not speak to me at all,
Wonderous world of the moment seen,
Unrevealed by the thin and small…

You Are…

A shadow in the dark,
A fire without spark…

Whittled Words – Monotetra Poem

Personally, I like the rhyme scheme and the repetitive final line of each stanza. I also appreciate the flexibility of this form in terms of how long or short the poem can be.

How Will You Know?

Your hands will never touch,
All the things I feel…

I speak my heart out.

I didn't have my glasses on....

A trip through life with fingers crossed and eternal optimism.
