Language of the Land

Of course, there is still great bigotry,
We have hated throughout our history.

The darkness is so rife,
On a moonless night,
I’ve come to take a life,
Hidden from the light.

From the Smallest Things

It bursts forth to life,
So small and frail,
Protected lovingly,
Shaded by family.

The Uncompromised Self

…We know best where we came from,
And must own the person we become.

Fight For It

Who do I hear talking right now,
Repeating other people’s words,
Said to you throughout the years…

Walk Tall

The great gnarled, scaly, and teethy beasts,
Lie in wait and upon our feelings feast…

The Craft

I threw a dictionary onto potter’s wheel,
And watched as the words turned…
