Laundry

Join the throng of the domesticized
Eyes glued to cell phone or tiled floor

Fish on Main Street

We leave behind all the shops lining Main Street,
Let the newcomers shop as we beat our retreat.

Reflected Truth

I worry if the man gazing back
Knows me like he should
Does he see a lesser person
Or perceive a lesser good

Warm Westward Wind

Without recourse you arid blow
Across cracked and barren brown lands
Hot leathered coils what you bestow
These callused, sun burnt cowboy hands

Your Loving Moon

Never able to turn and look away,
My stare frozen by the energy,
And as each night breaks to day,
You pull at me constantly.

Looking Back

If given some say by would be fate,
Change things in my life, a second chance,
An opportunity to skew my current state,
And in some small way my life enhance.

Tarry Not

And regret you may,
That you chose to stay,
When you could have run…

Maiden Voyage

Fifty-two tons, one of the unsinkable ones,
The proud flag ship of the White Star Line…

Sheltered Thanks

Sorrows drip from leaking eaves
Chasing a path to fertile ground
Like angel’s tears upon green leaves
Flowed off with nary a sound
