How to Unplan a Trip

This upcoming trip, I had decided to pass the baton. There were only three of us and the date was easy. I welcomed the chance to not be burdened with the detail and minutia of planning things.

Stubborn or Stuck

I was torn between the English and Metric systems of measure. Two systems that rail against each other in their efforts to complete the same tasks. There is no simple conversion for any units of measure.

Where Are We Going?

Hard to sleep the night before.
Always harder, not knowing.
With the rising sun we’ll leave,
I wonder where we’re going.

Fluent in 14 Languages

We have always been able to communicate with each other beyond any language barrier. It becomes this subtle dance of gesture and pantomime. Moving your hand across the other as if holding a pen to indicate you want to write something or would like your meal’s check. Pointing at something in the market and touching your wallet to inquire how much it costs. A whole stage full of charades played out to convey what the other is saying.
