Lost Light

The smoke hangs like haunted haze
Though the fire has been out for days
These lingering and languishing fears
Astringent to eyes filled with tears
Our little flame burning so bright
Has ceased her gift of flickering light
Being left without her contagious spark
We live in a world a little more dark
How will others now come to know
Her love, her light, her warm soft glow
How do we trek the arduous night
Without Fiery words to give us sight
A sadder world without your voice
Fond memories now the only choice
But we will always her shine remember
Our hearts warmed by her radiant ember

Beautiful ode to a light that has estinguished. Wonderfully written Brad 😊 👌
Thank you, Vinayak! Your are gracious with your words and time. Much appreciated!
Welcome 😊
Very sad
Thank you for reading and commenting. I am happy it touched you in some way!
It did. And I think I know to whom it was referring. Just sad
Your reference is certainly correct, and it leaves us all a bit sadder. I miss her light!
She was a marvellous poet and a beautuful human being. Has she just stopoed her blog, or has somethung happened to ger do you know?
I have no idea what has happened, but I like to think that maybe she got a publishing deal and they asked that she remove her works for print publication in the future. It is the happiest scenario I can imagine and eases the loss just a bit.
Yes that does seem to be a possibility. She was such a kind human being, joining you in sadness 😟
Such a beautiful description of a tragic loss. I have tears in my eyes as I read this. Bought the memories of my mom who was the light of my life
I will admit to being torn between reveling in the idea that something I could write would move someone to tears, and hating the idea that tears would fill your beautiful eyes!
Sometimes crying is good.It washes away the pain. You are really gifted Brad.
Are you are so very kind to say that!
a beautiful tribute to a lost light
Thanks, Jim!
Oh no! Has something happened to Fiery?! 😮
No one knows Ms. G! She and her blog disappeared a few weeks ago and nobody has seen her since. So sad!! 😥
I hope that she is okay, and is just taking a break from blogging
