Woman

~~~
To the pretty girls, running slow
Who let us steal playground kisses
To smiling eyes that seem to know
How to encourage loving wishes
~~~

To the maidens, fair and lovely

Who easy win our needy hearts

To the Gods realmed above me

Who perfected the gendered art

~~~
To your parents who raised you well
Who gave you your inner strength
To those who find their love in life
Regardless of the gifted length
~~~

To every painted flirtatious eye

Who can make a man fall

To all the women in our world

Who bring beauty to it all

~~~
I offer only a humble thanks
That you are exactly who you are
For an imagined world without you
Is a night sky without the stars
~~~

    Oh my, I am afraid to admit I was one of those little girls on the playground who had a little boyfriend in the second grade, is that awful. We did kiss a couple of times and I remember him still. This is so lovely Brad, I am crazy about every single line but these just took me right back to that playground my friend:

    Bravo – seriously, just love this. Thanks for these sweet memories. Love and hugs from Jonikins

    When I was a kid, we used to leave a May basket filled with goodies on a special someone’s doorstep, ring their doorbell, and run. The tradition was that the girl was supposed to catch you and give you a kiss. I think that was the point I learned not to run away too fast. 😍
