Word Thief

I am a man of many words

But with you, I am struck dumb

There are so many things to say

But somehow, words just won’t come

It is hard to speak without breath

There is silence within the vacuum

Your beauty draws the air from my lungs

Every time you walk into the room

Breathless and brimming

I can but only stare

I am overwhelmed by you

A silence that is truly rare

You will have to read my mind

Find my thoughts behind the eyes

For I have met an angel

And my words, their great demise

Brad I love the title you chose. This poem reminds me of the first time I was in love. I know that feeling of being breathless around someone. You have written so beautifully about love and the power that person can have over us.

Thanks Joni! You are always too kind. I haven’t felt that way on a long time, but I will never forget what it is like. Sending much love in return! 🌹💕🌹

You are welcome and you describe the feeling with such amazing accuracy. The first time I was in love (keep in mind I was an old soul by seventeen in many ways) I felt very much that way every time we met. I thought I would be able to once again be in the same room when I moved back to the south with my family. Soon after I returned and I called his mom, she was quite old, he had died by falling down the stairs and breaking his neck. I still dream of him. I am blessed to have found love again but it took a long time. He broke my heart. However, I think of all the wonderful times we shared.

Thank you for the love and sending more back. ❤️❤️💕🦋 love Jonikins

Beautifully written! Sometimes, people do have the ability to take our breath away—as well as words.

It’s funny how sometimes we can’t find the words with those we love the most.
