Trying Times

These are the times when mettle tested

When we are measured and weighed

The moments when our character vetted

And dealt hand must be well played

These are the times we show our true face

When we are the most afraid

The chances given to face fear with grace

And our practiced beliefs portrayed

These are the times of karma as king

When all we do will find return

The choices made seen lingering

And, from us, our children will learn

These are the times that we can be best

When we can rise to help others in need

The time to think of all the rest

And put thoughts into action and deed

well said – a poem for our times; these days will certainly define us as a nation and as individuals…

Great message. We’re teaching children through our conscious and involuntary actions how to be compassionate or selfish.
