Tuesday Tidbits #143

~~~
Welcome to the limited series, Tuesday Tidbits. A collection of quotes to provide inspiration, determination, and elevation. I hope you find something that brightens your day!
~~~

If we fed our minds with the same ferocity we feed our faces, we would all be geniuses.

The fears we face today are tomorrow’s triumphs.

I would rather die at the hands of a hurtful truth, then to live in the luxury of a lie.

There are things in my life I have been exceptional at, and other things in which I failed miserably. I try to survive in a space where I am not overly influenced by either of those truths.

What I did yesterday is now just history. The things I would do tomorrow are just hopes and wishes. It is what I do today that holds all the weight.

The greatest weapon ever placed in our hands is our survival instinct. When engaged, we are unafraid.

Writing, like all forms of art, is storytelling and an endeavor to move people to an emotional response. Although sad by context, the thought that my words could evoke a tear from a reader is one of my sweetest accolades.

Now get out there and write something!

    the quote about how ‘today holds all the weight’ rings true for me

  2. Oh yes, the greatest weapon is the instinct to survive, how well you have said it… reference history, we are making history every moment we breathe, so yesterday or today, it does not matter… and this thought is brilliant: “There are things in my life I have been exceptional at, and other things in which I failed miserably. I try to survive in a space where I am not overly influenced by either of those truths.” I can truly subscribe to this thought… Great philosophy my good friend!

    Once again, I love and relate to every single one of these tidbits. And again, I think I’m partial to the first and last. Your poetry moves me in many ways, and I have been brought to tears by your words many times. I say that with the utmost respect. I adore and admire you! You inspire me to be a better writer.

      You are much too kind. I am glad my work has led you to unexpected places and feelings. But being a better writer comes from all the hard work and tireless effort you put into your craft.

        You are right in that becoming a better writer will only happen if I put in the effort. However, I am allowed to show gratitude to the people who inspire me to make those efforts. Let me be grateful! 😁

    These are all great, but the one that resonated with me the most was focusing more on the present than dwelling too much on the past or constantly fantasizing about the future.

    I’ve missed reading these! When I read the one that starts with “The greatest weapon ever placed in our hands” I thought the answer was going to be a pen!
