The Other Side

~~~
Our love was but an arc in time
A span of moments
Bridging one shore to another
Built by foundling lovers
Across a river wide
~~~

A sunrise and a sunset

Marking the passage of time

The slow waltz of the sun

Shining on our day as one

While the moon awaits

~~~
Lost in the rhythm and the rhyme
We danced while they played
The beauty of a song
Lasting but minutes long
Set in a minor key
~~~

There will always be a then

Living in my now

That binds my past

To what did not last

But I am standing on the other side

~~~
    I love the phrasing you used here. Using the sunrise and sunset as a marker of the beginning and the end.
    I love the analogy of the bridge where you can look across and hold onto the things you learned, the memories you will always carry with you, but knowing you must face the other side alone.
    I so love your art!
    “Standing on the other side…” it summed it up for me. You’re an old soul with such wisdom about life and love through your experiences. Thank you, Brad, for giving us your gift.
