Lightyears Away

~~~
As you twinkle in the night sky
I know your light travels so fast
But what I behold with my eyes
Is just a glimpse of your past
~~~

The vast distance found in between

The bright you and the earthly me

Ancient history is left to be seen

And all that time can offer to see

~~~
Even now, as you radiant glow
All I can find is your youth
If this time is all I can know
Then how do I find your truth
~~~

Yet, how blessed must I surely be

That you still shine brightly up there

A beautiful sparkle in my night sky

With a light that is so very rare

~~~
It takes years to get here to me
And you are seemingly everlasting
But the one thing I hope to never see
Is the moment of your celestial passing
~~~

    This is so beautifully written. Love compared to the infinite beauty of the sky. The way you ended it is gorgeous. Brad it said I wasn’t following you. This is happening with many sites I have been following for two years. Anyway you are one of my very favorite poets so I would never stop following you my friend. I am sending my love to you. Hugs to you Brad. Your loving friend Jonikins ❤️🤗❤️🤗
